The Dubai Fountain is located on the Burj Khalifa Lake in downtown Dubai. It spans over 275 metres (902 feet) in length and can shoot water up to 500 feet 152.4 metres) into the air, the fountain can spray 22,000 gallons of water at any moment.
There are approximately 25 coloured projectors and 6600 lights. Travellers can also attend the light and sound show for free, the timings for which are every half an hour from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM (1:30 PM to 2:00 PM on Fridays). One of my special tips is to arrive early at the location to get a good view and spot for viewing the light and sound show.
The fountain features over 48 pieces of music which are a blend of classical pop and traditional Arabic music. It includes UAE National Anthem and special events such as the Expo 2020 logo launch. There are high pressure water jets such as Shooters, Oarsmen and water robots to create dynamic water movements.
The fountain also hosted various advertising campaigns till now, such as for DHL Express in 2011. A fact about this fountain is that its beam of light can be seen from over 20 miles away, which makes it a prominent landmark.
Its testing began in February 2009 and was officially inaugurated on May 8th, 2009, with the opening of the Dubai Mall.

World's tallest building, The Burj Khalifa, is the most iconic tower in Dubai with an observation deck. It stands at a height of 828 metres (2,717 feet) with 163 floors. Its construction began in January 2004 and the exterior was completed in October 2009,
however, it was officially opened to the public on January 4th, 2010. It is a mix of residential, commercial and hospitality spaces and is designed with a unique Y-shaped floor plan inspired by Islamic architecture. It was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merril (SOM).
